Words Matter In Safe Driving: “Crash” Not “Accident”

Here is a letter to the editor on a Minnesota newspaper from a Who’s Who of our nation’s safe driving leaders, advocating the use of the word “crash” instead of the word “accident” when reporting about motor vehicles.  This seemingly small distinction is an important part of efforts to change the culture of driving by increasing recognition that crashes are not random or unavoidable.
