I together with my buddies were reading through the good tips located on the blog while before long I got an awful suspicion I had not expressed respect to the web site owner for those techniques. These young men were definitely for that reason joyful to study them and already have in fact been tapping into them. Many thanks for actually being indeed kind and then for using this kind of very good subject areas millions of individuals are really eager to be aware of. My honest apologies for not expressing appreciation to you sooner.

I know one thing - You're committment to reaching the parents of teens will indeed have positive effects. A split second of distraction can lead to severe and devastating consequences. This is particularly so with teens, who many not fully grasp how dangerous driving an automobile really is. Keep fighting the good fight!

Dear Mr. Holister: Your son did not leave this world in vain......your blog, your incredible dedication to your son's memory...I am just so very grateful to you for taking the pain and sorrow you have experienced, and giving such an enormous gift to those of us who have young teenagers who want to get behind the wheel......

My son is only 14, and as we live in a rural area in Wyoming, and I am partially disabled, he is asking if we can work on obtaining an early drivers license for him....(permissable in some circumstances, under Wyoming law).

My son is level-headed, a good student, etc., so I have been in search of some sort of balanced approach and a learning mechanism that will educate both of us regarding the risks of driving at his age....your blog and your story-the story of Reid....are exactly what we need-not to frighten my son, but to expose him to and educate him before he takes on such a responsiblity.....

Enuf said by me, but please, please know that Reid's life, and the loss of him will be so very important in saving the lives of so many other teen drivers. Your generousity in sharing your wisdem and the lessons learned, despite the enormous pain you must have and still do carry---well, what an incredible human being you must be.......

To all who have children and want for them as we have, hold them close and trust yourself when having to say no to the dangerious request they make.
Make a list of things not allowed and stick to it.
Check the driving skills or the lack there of of thoes yours will be riding with.
Stay in contact with the families of thier friends.
Write them letters and tell them how much you love them and what you respect about them.
You never know what you have till its gone. Treat them special.
Pray when you wake you will still have
Hunter was not mine. Its impossible to say goodbye.
Don,t mess up. please!
Love lowell, Hunter,s Dad

Julie & family are personal friends of ours and although our children were very young when Hunter's accident happened, his death affected us deeply. Our girls will grow up with the knowledge of safe driving & the horrible things that can happen when you aren't practicing safe driving skills. I am very excited that Project Yellow Light is going national!

Three recent studies have shown that fewer teens are licensing prior to age 18. Teen injury and fatality crash statistics have been significantly reduced only to significantly spike at age 18. The results of each study concluded that the GDL has delayed licensure and has produced more untrained and uneducated drivers than ever before since there are little if any driver education pre-requisites and no restrictions for novice drivers aged 18 and over. NHTSA has proposed a National Novice Standards for Driver Education consisting of 45 hours of professional classroom and 40 hours of professional road instruction while Connecticut continues to mandate only a professional 8 hour course in Safe Driving Practices along with parent training. Parent training is not held accountable to any standards which defacto voids any crediblilty to quality driver education.
